Northeastern’s Online MS in Management program is a highly specialized program designed for individuals seeking to take on leadership roles in the healthcare industry without any clinician experience required. The master's degree program has two areas of specialization: Healthcare Administration and Digital Transformation in Healthcare.

Nutrition

1-2 weeks | Selective

Students observe Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting at the hospital and the clinic. Students will review patient cases with the RDN prior to observing consults, either in an outpatient office setting or bedside clinical teaching. Additional activities such as observing group classes, team meetings and interdisciplinary rounds, as well as completion of a case study, are also available.

Nutritional Medicine

The Culinary Medicine Selective acknowledges the lack of nutrition education provided in the traditional medical school curriculum and narrows the gap by providing students an environment to complete online nutrition modules followed by in-person cooking sessions together as a group.

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Obstetrics and gynecology combine the disciplines of medicine and surgery. As such, this selective provides exposure to broad practices within the field of medicine as well as an understanding of the complexities within women’s health care.

Obstetrics & Gynecology Reproductive, Endocrinology, & Infertility Clinic

3-8 weeks | Selective

Experiences involve outpatient care of reproductive endocrinology patients and exposure to surgical procedures and assisted reproductive technologies.

Occupational Therapy

Students will observe occupational therapists addressing physical, psychological, and cognitive aspects of patient well-being through the therapeutic use of everyday activities, optimizing function and quality of life in patients recovering from illness, injury or disability.

Oncology

Students will work with several staff consultants, fellows and residents in various oncologic disciplines at the Mayo cancer center and hospital, gaining exposure to various tumor specific clinics, subspecialty tumor boards, journal clubs and teaching sessions.

Online Pathology

A self-directed online Pathology course using pathelective.com. Students will self-select the pathology learning modules of their interest to complete and read short Microbiology articles.

Operational Medicine

Longitudinal | Selective

A longitudinal selective focused on providing pre-exposure and training for hands on skills to better prepare medical students for clerkships and specialties in areas like Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Anesthesia, and various Surgical Specialties.

Ophthalmology

Over the course of 2 months, students will attend a single workshop session, read pre-selected material on various ophthalmology topics, and shadow consultants for a total of 20 hours.
