Awards and Funding

The Office of Education Science supports the advancement of education science at Mayo Clinic through competitive research grants, a year-long career development program, and other activities to engage and build a community of scholars. We currently offer three awards:

  • The Endowment for Education Research Award (EERA) is an annual award funded by OASES to support specific education research projects. The purpose is to advance the careers of Mayo Clinic, educators, increase the value of Mayo Clinic education programs, and contribute to the science of education. Applicants can request up to $10,000 (Tier 1, small or pilot projects) or $40,000 (Tier 2, more advanced projects) to be used in one calendar year.
  • The Education Science Career Development Award (ESCDA) is an annual award funded by OASES for faculty members who wish to pursue education research as a significant component of their careers. Recipients will gain skills in education research, actively engage with our community of scholars, and create an education research protocol as part of this one-year curriculum. The award covers the cost of all educational activities and supports protected time to participate.
  • The Clinical Education Investigator Award (CEI) recognizes the accomplishments of education researchers who have significant, sustained contributions to education science on a national and international scale. The award includes an ongoing financial endowment to support the recipient's research activities.
