I am forever grateful for the Mayo Clinic and the Pediatrics Residency Program. If I had to do it over again and could choose any program in the country to best set me up for success, I would choose Mayo again every time. I had the flexibility to train in unique electives and research experiences, the down time to think critically about my patients and career plans, and amazing compassionate mentors and colleagues to inspire me to grow – in the hospital, in research, and as a human being.

Understanding “the best interest of the patient is the only interest to be considered” has entirely shaped who I am as a physician advocate. I have learned what it looks like to “go the extra mile” in patient care. As a trainee, there is unparalleled value in generous appointment duration, same day advanced imaging, and approachable world experts a phone call away. The strength of all of Mayo’s programs allows anyone couples matching or thinking outside the box to tap into an incredible wealth of opportunity. Whether I needed support for an innovative project, travel funds to present my work, or an expert nephrologist to teach me about CKD over a cup of coffee, Mayo provided, always. Most of all, I am grateful to have been trained and mentored by model physician educators who remain deeply invested in my success.
