Getting Started
Before you start residency or fellowship training, you'll take part in an orientation program that will introduce you to Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education (MCSGME).
We look forward to meeting you and feel confident that the training you will receive will be enjoyable and rewarding. Before your arrival, there are several tasks that need to be completed.
Before arriving for orientation
Contact Provider Enrollment by May 1
Complete a health review
Complete licensure requirements
Complete a baseline background check
Complete an in-person appointment with Human Resources — Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9 Form)
Complete an Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9 Form)
Obtain life-support certifications
Get photo taken
Inform us about special needs
Bring to orientation
Trainees requiring a visa
Trainees who will require a visa in order to start their training program will need to contact the Mayo Clinic Legal Department when they receive their appointment letter to start their visa process. Trainees will not be able to start their training program unless they have a current visa in place at the time of orientation.

Dress code
Business formal: Suit or sport coat, skirt or dress pants, button-down/up collared shirt and tie, dress, blouse or sweater. Casual clothing or fabric, such as denim is not permitted.
