Practice Administration
Quality improvement expertise and change management are essential elements of effective clinical leadership. If you envision yourself as a local or national leader in clinical neonatology, the Mayo Clinic neonatal-perinatal medicine program provides you opportunities for rigorous training in the relevant domains.
Faculty and systems engineers in the Mayo Clinic Quality Academy offer didactic and experiential learning opportunities to guide the your development. Coursework not only enables you to understand and employ practice improvement strategies, but also develops your ability to teach these principles to others.
Quality improvement project
Fellows are full members of our division-level NICU Quality and Safety Committee. On the committee, they learn from a quality improvement curriculum that is a Mayo Clinic-wide initiative to assist in the implementation of systems-based practice and practice-based learning and improvement, two competencies required of all residencies and fellowships by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
