Positions

Up to two positions are available on a competitive basis each year in the Breast Imaging Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Arizona.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the Breast Imaging Fellowship, you must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) - accredited diagnostic radiology training program and be board certified or board eligible in diagnostic radiology at the onset of the fellowship.

How to apply

The Breast Imaging Fellowship adheres to the Society of Breast Imaging guidelines for the program application and interview timelines.

Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education does not process printed applications for this program. All candidates must apply through Recruit, a third-party application service. The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted from Nov. 1 - Dec. 10, 2024, for the 2026-2027 fellowship program.

Steps to apply:

Create an account to begin the online Application for Admission.
All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials. In addition to the standard application materials, the program requires two letters of recommendation (LOR) from a candidate's radiology residency program director and another faculty member. LOR must be completed in the Recommendation Request section of Recruit. The recommenders will receive an email with a link to upload the letters.
After submission, please view the required Supplemental Items and Documents:

- Upload each required item in the Supplemental Items Section.
- Complete the Recommendation Request section.

Note: Appointments to the breast imaging fellowship are made through the Radiology Fellowship Match which is sponsored by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI). The SBI fellowship match program website provides a wealth of information about the breast fellowship match. We do follow important dates set forth each year by the SBI.

Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty.

We typically conduct our interviews January-March, adhering to current Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) guidelines.

Interviews may be virtual or in-person depending on guidance from SBI, the Society of Chairs of Academic Radiology Departments (SCARD), and Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education. The interview format will be disclosed at the time interview invites are extended.
