Program description

The one-year Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, provides both the knowledge and necessary hands-on experience to pursue a career in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Along with lecture courses, the program provides applied learning through lab and clinical experiences at one of the best healthcare facilities in the world.

As a student, you will gain 900 clinical hours caring for patients, operating MRI equipment, and learning from experienced registered MRI technologists, radiologists, physicists, and other allied health professionals.

  • You’ll start working with patients after just four weeks of the program, ensuring that you will be fully prepared to start your career at the end of the program

After successfully completing the program, you will receive a certificate of completion from Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. Graduates are eligible to take the magnetic resonance imaging certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Students seeking a degree from one of the program’s affiliated academic institutions also receive a degree from their respective college university upon program completion.
