How to Apply

The Clinical Neurophysiology Technology Program accepts up to eight students each year for the two-year program.

Admission requirements and policies

Application process

Your application and all supporting documentation must be received by Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences between Nov. 1 and Feb. 1 of the year you wish to begin classes. Admission status notification is mailed in early April. The program begins in August each year.

Students who have completed the application and have all the required supplemental items (referenced below) submitted by Jan. 15, will be guaranteed an interview.

Application instructions

Complete the following steps to apply:

  1. Create an account to begin the online Application for Admission
    • Select - Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences
    • Select - Clinical Neurophysiology Technology Program
  2. Complete each section of the application and submit
  3. After submission, view the required Supplemental Items and Documents
    • Upload each required item in the Supplemental Items section 
    • Complete the Recommendation Request section 

Additional required items

  • Complete the essay questions in 500 words or less and upload to the Supplemental Items section.
    • Please answer the following questions in your essay:
      • How did you become interested in the Neurodiagnostic profession?
      • Describe any personal qualities or experiences that make you a competitive candidate for this program.
      • If you have completed a job shadow, include three sentences about the experience at the end of the essay.
  • Unofficial transcripts may be uploaded in the Supplemental Items area for application purposes. Transcripts are required from all educational institutions you attended including high school and, if applicable, all college and university credits and grades from your most recent quarter or semester. If admitted, official transcripts must be provided to the program directly from the institution(s) prior to the start of the program
  • Two recommendations are required and must be completed in the Recommendation Request section. Each recommender will receive an email with a link to complete a recommendation form.
    • Recommendations from a teacher, counselor, professor, employer, or supervisor. Choose a person familiar with your qualifications and your potential for success in the Clinical Neurophysiology Technology field. Friends or family are not accepted.

Applications are not considered complete and will not move on to the review process if the above items are not completed by the application deadline.

Interview process

Some applicants will be invited to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty.

Acceptance

Acceptance letters are mailed in early April. If you receive an acceptance letter, your reply is expected within 10 days.
